The Disco Biscuits Announce Winter 2009 Tour, Spark Langerado Rumors

The Disco Biscuits announced their Winter 2009 tour dates today through e-mail, sparking rumors about tDB’s presence at Miami’s Langerado festival.

After a two-week break after their five-day NY(E) run, tDB will kick off their tour on January 16 in Northampton, MA. They are playing shows all over the country, with a three-week stay out west. After a week-long break, they’re coming back east for shows in Burlington, VT, Boston, Baltimore, and Virginia.

March 6 is the last show on the Disco Biscuits’ calendar, but that’s not when their tour is ending. According to this morning’s e-mail, news about shows on March 7th and 8th–which happens to be the same weekend as Langerado–will be announced on December 8, the same day as Langerado is announcing their preliminary lineup. The only official act announced so far is Robert Randolph and The Family Band, so December 8 brings a lot to look forward to.

Langerado’s change of venue is not the only anticipated change to the festival; according to Consequence of Sound, festival co-producer Ethan Schwartz said that, “It’s going to be really fresh…I would say that 75%-80% of the bands have never played the festival before.”. The Disco Biscuits are a Langerado favorite, so bringing them back would also bring back Bisco fans who would otherwise spend the weekend passed out in the hallway of a Hampton motel.
